Thank you, Miss Kelly!

September 2, 2011

Since Mrs. Lawn Fawn herself has been so generous, kind and generally supportive of our ventures over at the Lawnscaping challenge blog, we as a Design Team wanted to get together and thank her in a more public way. :) You should be coming here from Christiana – you can go over to the Lawnscaping blog to start from the beginning. :)

Here’s what I came up with to send to Kelly… using Lawn Fawn’s Many Thanks, of course!

The background panel was created with distress ink on an acrylic block + spraying it with water and then pressing it down. I love this look and thought it was perfectly soft for this kind of card. Then I added some detail with my sew easy (lazy daisy head), some may arts lace ribbon (361-58-10) and a couple pearls. I love how happy and bright this card is, just like Kelly!

I love the texture sewing gives. Usually I don’t mind keeping my sewing show on the inside of my cards, but this one had quite a bit on the inside, and it was my first time trying to sew with this head, so it got a little messy. Perfect solution? Cover it up with some coordinating patterned paper.

See the difference? This Honey Cake MME patterned paper pad just showed up at my hose today, and I’m loving it. The colors are even more gorgeous in person!

So thank you so much, Kelly for your constant inspiration and generousity to our challenge site. We couldn’t keep this going without your support, and we’re so happy to have you on board. :)

and Vera Yates

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Love,

So cute, I love how you made the background and the sewing. I’ve seen those bigger sew easy heads and have not decided if I like them but yours is too cute!
