Video Tutorial Monday 51 – Nellie Snellen Dies and Stamps

August 29, 2011

I’m so excited to share this card with you this week. It’s so bright and happy, and it’s using some of my very favorite new dies – these wonderful frame dies by Nellie Snellen (available at Simon Says Stamp!). I wanted to show you how to use them, so that’s what the video’s about this week. :) Here’s what we’ll be making:

I love the style of this image (also by Nellie Snellen), and it was a joy to color. After I colored in the image with colored pencils, I went back with my pen over the original stamp lines to really make the image pop. It make a huge difference!

Hope you enjoyed this look at these new products. If you haven’t seen them around yet, I suggest picking up a die set. They’re super cost-effective at about $10 for a set, so you can play around without a huge investment. :) What other products would you like me to test out for you?

Today has been all about arrangements for me. I’ve been struck with the travel bug, and I’m my heart is set on traveling abroad to Spain for spring semester of this year. Yes, that means that I would have to take an extra semester to finish up school (graduating in Fall of 2012 versus Spring 2012), but I feel an enormously strong calling to go to Spain. This is right for me. This is what I need out of college.

So I’ve been meeting with multiple advisers, crunching big (big) numbers and trying to figure out a schedule that is going to work for me. I’m so excited about this path that I’m taking, and I can’t wait to take you with me. Are you ready to come with me to Barcelona? You better be. :) I’m not sure what this means for me in a lot of aspects of my life yet, but I know I’m going to make it happen. I can’t wait to share more of my journey with you! Excited excited. Off to look at scholarships. I have to win over my parents’ minds somehow, right? Hehe.

Love,
Britta

Hi, like your videos a lot! After your haul vid last week I went and ordered a set of those dies from Simon Says Stamp. The doily flower one that you bought – love it. I’d love to see it used in a video for a bit of fun. I bought a set of them for my mum too, so if you do a vid, I’ll point her to it so she can watch too. Wow, Spain, good for you!

Thank you so much for showing these dies and stamps in the video, Britta! I’ve seen them before in an online store close to me, but have never really looked closely enough to see their great potential. I’ll soon be off to check them out again =)

Super-amazing! Thanks for the intro to the new products. I have been wanting some different dies. And it is nice to have a little gal who doesn’t have a huge head (I hate those!). You are such a doll to help us all out as you do. I will be sending along positive thoughts of Spain.
