Bonus Tutorial for You + My Shopping List

September 10, 2011

Hey there! I’ve had so many amazingly positive comments on the card that I’ve made for the Lawnscaping blog hop (you have until Sunday night to comment, if you haven’t hopped already!), that when I sat down to re-create the wood effect for a new card that I’m creating today, I knew I had to film it. Hope you like the tutorial!

Two more things! First of all, I got my hair done yesterday. I’ve been super lazy today and just put it up to get it out of the way, so I’ll have a better picture up later that actually shows my face and my hair cut, but I wanted to show you how the color turned out. It’s very deep burgundy, and I’m in love with it. It’s funky but still tasteful (a.k.a. my mom isn’t going to have a major heart attack). I like to push those limits. ;)

Also, Simon Says Stamp is going all out for their STAMPtember celebration and has all ranger products 15% off for the rest of the weekend! Use this in conjunction with the coupon code “stamp” for five dollars off any order AND you get free shipping with your order of $70 or more…. I say this weekend is the time to give yourself a little treat. :)

Ranger things I can’t live without that are ON SALE until Sunday night, the 11th:

Things that I’m really excited about… I have a huge, huge cart over at Simon Says just waiting to be purchased. Here are some of my favorite new, awesome things that I’ve picked up recently or can’t wait to get my hands on:

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Tomorrow is the September DeNami blog hop, so I’ll be back with a post for that. Hope you’re enjoying your weekend! I’m relaxing and trying to detox after a week with wayyy more people than I’m used to. I’ve never really been the type of person who always likes to be surrounded by others. I’m much more content being by myself most of the time. Therefore, this whole “school” thing takes a lot of getting used to for me and a lot of quiet moments in my room to salvage my sanity. Will keep you updated on that one! Lol.

Love,
Britta

P.S. You’re definitely going to want to be here on Monday for my 1 year of Video Tutorial Mondays celebration! Well, only if you like tutorials and giveaways…

Love your hair colour! Btw, did you buy any of the new JBS inks? They are on their way to me … can’t wait!

Yes, your hair is quite tasteful. I love the color! Your mom should like it! Thanks for the tutorial on how you did the faux wood. Love how you came up with it. You’re a genius. I see you have the set of Spellbinders dies in your cart list that I just bought recently. The Blossom Tags & Accents dies. I haven’t used them yet though. I originally bought the Unity stamp set that goes with it. Betsy Veldman did some nice cards on her blog a few months ago with the stamp set. I didn’t realize Spellbinders was having a die set to match the stamps until I stumbled upon the die set online last month. The stamp set is kinda expensive as it is a whole sheet 8 and a half by 11 size, of stamps. But there are a ton of stamps on the sheet. Then when I saw that Spellbinders had a die set to match, needed to have it! And nice fingernails. Are they like a Halloween type thing?! They look great!

Thanks for the tutorial on how to do the wood affect – you are so talented!! now I have to get the impression plate from PTI.
I saw that you have on your shopping list the circles die from sizzix, you should check the new circles die from lifestyle/quickutz, I bought it for $20 (and they come with 20 circles). I bought mine on ebay and really loving it so far.

Thanks for the wonderful tutorial Britta! Interesting to hear that you don’t always like big crowds of people, as I’m just the same way! I’ve always liked being alone, even when I was a child. My mom has told me I would simply sit alone in my room with the door shut, playing by myself for hours and hours. I still do the same, only with the door open now to get some fresh air in, and playing with my craft stuff and not dolls anymore =) Looking forward to seeing what fun you have planned for your 1 year of VTM celebration!

Wow! Amazing tutorial, you’re definitely the queen of distress inks!

Thanks so much for sharing how you made that amazing door! It is so much better to see it in a video than try to go by written directions sometimes. The woodgrain Impression plate will be in my next PTI order for sure. Love the hair, I did mine a similar color once. And I love when you share your shopping/wishlists. Nice to compare to mine and see if there is anything new I might need to add. :) That wood floor would be fab for the little Lawn Fawn Pa-Rum-Pa-Pum-Pum toys!
