Simon Says… It’s Christmas in August!

August 3, 2011

The challenge this week over at the lovely Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog is Christmas in August. This one was a bit of shock for me at first since it’s the dog days of summer here in Minnesota, but I definitely enjoyed getting into the wintery, Christmasy mood with this card. :) Here’s my card for this week:

I’ve been loving Penny Black stamps lately! I remember this poinsettia being used several times on Kathy Racoosin’s blog during the last holiday season and couldn’t resist adding some white dots on it a-la Kathy. :) Love that look! I also went over all of the important lines with a black marker when I was done coloring (something that Kathy does on every. single. thing. she. colors!)

Supplies used on this card:

Make sure you head over to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog to play along with us! You have the chance to win this lovely prize just for linking up to a Christmas in August card- a $50 gift certificate to Simon Says Stamp!

Also, make sure to check out the other DT creations. They totally rocked the challenge this week! Sorry for the delay with my Video Tutorial Monday this week… the last three days have been absolutely nuts with my last week of class. Today I have a test and a project due, and tomorrow another project and a critique. I can’t wait to be done! Will have the video + some fun things posted for you later today. :)

P.S. – If I were to do a giveaway for my 100th video (as well as a general thank you to my awesome blog readers), what would you like to see as prizes? I would like to do something other than just a gift certificate and would like to have several winners. So tell me, what would you like to win? Hehe!

Beautiful card! I love your dots on that lovely poinsettia. And I’ll have to check out that challenge – thanks for the heads up!

So how about a private technique or design video for a prize? I believe you can make videos private on youtube. Then you can invite the winner(s) to see the video. After a significant amount of time has passed you could then make it public too if you wanted. I love videos myself, and this way you don’t have actual money out of pocket and can have multiple winners. HTH!
