Video Tutorial Monday #17 – Watercolor Resist

January 3, 2011

*This is my second post for today. Scroll down to learn all about the new Lawnscaping Challenges blog!*

Just popping in quickly to share my video tutorial monday this week. I must say, I’m very glad to be headed home tomorrow back where my typical set up is… My setup here is questionable at best, with tape holding my camera up… my camera totally took a tumble during filming and scared the bejeebers out of me. You can’t really tell in the final video, though. :) Anyways, here’s today’s card:

The card is very simple- just a watercolored heart on a kraft base with some washi tape on it. I embossed the “love”s and “love you” with silver embossing paper and then put watercolor over the top. Look at that pretty resist look:

And here’s the video for today. Watch it on YouTube if you prefer and make sure to subscribe to my channel. :) Oh, and what do you think of the new intro screen?

Supplies: Cardstock- The Paper Company (Kraft), Watercolor Paper- Canson, Washi Tape- PrettyTape on Etsy, Watercolors- Prang (16 color oval palate), Stamps- Hero Arts (CL494 Hip Hip Hooray) and Lawn Fawn (Sophie’s Sentiments), Embossing Powder- Ranger, Ink- Ranger (Vintage Photo Distress Ink) and Tsukineko (Versamark), Thread- DMC.

Thanks for sticking around for the last couple weeks of somewhat random, crazy posts. I can’t wait to get back home and get back into a routine again. Whew. I love being back in Wisconsin, but two weeks is enough. Minneapolis, here I come! See you tomorrow for another wintery card. :)

Love,

Britta

Oh wow, Brit, this is SO pretty! Love the vibrance of the watercolors, the subtleness of the washi tape on kraft, and the texture of the stitching. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! Thanks for the how-to!
